Alert system for heavy rainfall inaugurated in Bavarian municipality
With the help of an early alert system for heavy rainfall installed throughout Bavaria, the citizens of the federal state are fighting floods. Installed in 2017 and extensively tested in the meantime, it was officially inaugurated for the municipality of Adelsdorf on June 20. Especially after a storm on Corpus Christi (31 May), this was an important step towards dealing with the increasingly frequent extreme weather conditions. The measured values and hazard levels can be tracked on the Internet. The measuring network uses the Lufft weather sensor models WS600, WS400 and the new radar precipitation sensor WS100.
